8:30 am, my first Mentor experience is today!! and i am terrified. I'm too shy! and i know there will be loads of people there...

I'm really tired, i was kind of nervous, and didn't sleep that much last night just ended up curling my hair at 3 am and doing my makeup... messing with stuff like that is weirdly calming! eventually got to sleep tho.

Met my friend Becky, shes epic <3 shes already a Mentor and shes coming in with me today to keep me company... shes my Jedi master hahaha. Is there a dark side of Mentoring? if so... im Darth Vader >__< but Becky's not my father... that would be confusing...

Ok so when i got into uni... late... im never on time... somehting i hope being a Mentor will help me work on... i went to the room we were trianing in. Oh wow more people than i expected! but the few i spoke to seemed lovely :) We learned a lot of interesting tips and facts about Mentoring, some i never even thought about like the boundries between Mentoring and friendship... obviously i knew there were boundries... but in a different way... i thought we were supposed to give out our phone number and stuff but i am happy to leanr it is more secure and privatly handled through student services and the uni ^__^.

So it's nearly the end of the day... i hope next time we meet as a group like this i'll be a little more talkative... it's strange i feel like when i am doing my Mentor duties i will be in a different frame of mind and much more sociable and talkative, but when it's a classroom enviroment i just close up. I think Mentoring will be a great opportunity to become more confident and chatty.
